Why I’m doing this?
I developed ANNIE as a result of my struggles with stock investing. With a background in computer engineering, I found the mechanics of stock and option investing to be relatively straightforward. However, despite my technical understanding, I was perplexed as to why I wasn’t achieving better results. Upon reflection, I identified that my trading decisions were often too aggressive, too reckless, or overly conservative. The underlying issue was the significant role my emotions played in my decision-making process.
I would frequently find myself expressing sentiments like, “I have a good feeling about this company; I believe it will perform well.” Yet, upon stepping back and scrutinizing such statements, I came to the realization that this emotional approach was precisely why I was consistently losing money. This realization sparked the idea to create an Artificial Intelligence system – ANNIE – to manage investments on my behalf.
The inception of ANNIE was a revelation for me. I was confident that by eliminating emotions from the investing equation, the performance of my portfolio would significantly improve. Regrettably, due to personal circumstances, I no longer possess surplus funds to invest in the market. However, I recognize that there are many individuals facing similar challenges with their investments.
With ANNIE, I am poised to extend a helping hand to these individuals. I believe that through this AI system, others can benefit by mitigating the emotional aspects that often hinder investment decisions, leading to better-informed choices and potentially improved financial outcomes.
